This is a little about my own personal background.

 

I am a fully indentured trained engineer having completed a civilian engineering apprenticeship with the REME in Bovington Camp in the late 80's and continued to work there into the late 90's.

 

I worked several years as an International Service Engineer installing, training operators and repairing spraying equipment mainly for the food industry.

 

I invested in a well known national smart repairer franchise and underwent an extensive training programme with them and ran a franchise for several years with them learning the trade until I felt brave enough to go fully independant and so I formed Bumps & Scratches.

 

The repair process.

 

To be able to carry out the repair access to power, water and a safe area like a driveway (friends, relative, neighbours or workplace) garage or quiet parking area needs to be supplied by the customer.

An Average single small repair usually takes about 4 hours as a guide only.

All paint is made on site to ensure accurate colour match.

The paint is baked on using heat lamps.

For anyone interested I use the NEXA AQUABASE PLUS waterbase colour system.

The vehicle can be driven immeadiately after the repair.

It is recommended that the car is not washed for 7 days after the repair to allow the clear lacquer to fully cure/harden.

 

Estimates

 

If it is feasible i will come out to you to examine the vehicle to ensure that the damage is suitable for the smart repair process and for you to meet me and answer any questions you may have over the repair this is a free no obligation quote which is fixed unless additional work is asked for by the customer between quote and repair.

 

Alternatively

 

If you require an estimate based on information and photographs supplied over the phone or email due to circumstances like fast repair required, 3rd party involvement, insurance, limited availability, not in the area at the moment or distance I am happy to quote for all of these situations and find most quotes all tend to be pretty accurate but reserve the right to change the quote if additional work is required on arrival for the repair  ie, if a bumper has been descibed as scuffed but on arrival the bumper is actually cracked or holed there may be an additional charge to pay to reflect the additional materials and time required to repair, usual circumstances this may occurr is a customer phones and says i have a scratch on my bumper I quote to repair and then on arrival the scratch goes onto the wing aswell which has not been mentioned that may incurr additional costs to repair the wing aswell if required. Please note that no repair work is undertaken unless all costs have been agreed by all partys beforehand. 

 

Payment

 

Payment is usually made on completion of repair and customer satisfaction and invoice is provided.

Payment can be made using debit/credit card (no extra charge applied for card payments),BAC or cash.

In the event a 3rd party is paying then payment is done before the repair is carried out usually paid direct over the phone.
